Kibo Privacy Policy

Effective: July 16, 2026

Kibo ("we", "us") helps you build discipline through tracked gym sessions, habits, hydration, and sleep. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We never sell your data or share it with advertisers.

Information We Collect

Account details: name, email address, and the sign-in method you choose (Apple, Google, or a passwordless email sign-in link).
Profile information: date of birth, height, weight, sex, username, and an optional profile photo.
Activity you log: gym sessions, custom habits, hydration, sleep, streaks, XP, and evolution progress.
Apple Health (optional): with your explicit permission, Kibo reads your steps, sleep, and workout data, and writes the water you log back to Apple Health. This is read/write only with your consent and can be revoked any time in iOS Settings.
Verification photos: photos you take to confirm a gym session or habit.

Photos & AI Verification

When you verify a gym session or a photo-verified habit (such as Running, Reading, a Healthy Meal, a Walk, Study, or Journaling), and when you set a profile photo, the image is sent to a third-party AI provider that checks whether it matches the activity. Verification photos are used only for that check and are not stored by us afterward. Your profile photo is stored locally on your device. Photos are never used for advertising.

How We Use Your Information

To power your streaks, XP, evolution, badges, and personalized daily targets.
To operate social features you opt into — friends, squads, and leaderboards. Your username, streak, XP, tier, and creature stage are visible to other users on these leaderboards.
To send local reminders and notifications you enable.
To process your subscription.

Third-Party Services

Firebase (Google): authentication, database, and storage.
RevenueCat & the App Store: subscription management and billing.
AI verification provider: a third-party AI service that analyzes verification and profile photos, as described above.
Apple HealthKit: optional health data sync, only with your permission.

Health data obtained through Apple Health is never used for advertising and is never shared with any third party.

Deleting Your Account

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time, instantly, from inside the app: Settings → Delete Account. This removes your profile, stats, history, friends, and squad memberships immediately. If you prefer, you can also email us at kibohabits@gmail.com and we will process the deletion.

Children

Kibo is not intended for anyone under 13. If you are under 13 years of age, you may not use Kibo. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the effective date above.
